Maintenance

What needs to be done?

Like all systems, maintenance is the key to effective use. KISSS is pretty simple from a maintenance point of view, with the two main things being filtration and system flushing.

In the domestic setting where the water supply is from the potable mains you will need to clean the filter once every 12 months. A flush of the lines should also be performed once every 12 months to clean out any accumulated debris. If it is recycled water these tasks should be completed every 3-6 months.

In most domestic installations a dual check valve is installed to prevent backflow contamination into the water supply and these should be checked every 12 months. If a non return valve, (called an RPZ) is installed then this will have to be checked every 12 months by a licensed operator.

The scheduling of the irrigation should be done twice per year. Once for the warmer months of spring and summer, and once for the winter months to maximise the water savings from KISSS.

Therefore it is preferred practice to have a licensed installer give you a price to come around every 6 months and carry out these tasks for you.

Options

There is an option to have KISSS remotely monitored by an installer which will allow them to change the irrigation schedules according to the weather conditions each month. This will save even more water but keep your plants thriving even while away on holidays.

Have a chat to the KISSS installer to better determine your needs.
